Steps to become a Trainer

13,000 trainers in 84 countries (as of 2020) are a clear sign. The GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® is becoming increasingly popular, and for good reason.

It offers a unique path in the culture of movement - equally regarding the values of health, aesthetics and athletic performance.

This makes the GYROTONIC® method in the same way interesting for
medical professions
professions related to sports, therapy and movement
stage professions
any person who wants to actively take care of their body.
Gyrotonic Studio Heitersheim
The basic training to become a GYROTONIC® or GYROKINESIS® trainer includes learning and applying the fundamental principles of human movement, a systematic set of exercise sequences (Juliu Horvaths Movement Alphabet) as well as hands-on techniques for guiding clients.

The GYROTONIC® & GYROKINESIS® Teacher Training Program is divided into 4 steps:

1. Pre-Training Course (6 days)
A minimum of 10 hours with a certified trainer is required. The course is then used to get a basic understanding of the exercises and to physically prepare the participant for the teacher course. After successful completion, one can enroll in the teacher course. This must be completed between one week and 3 months after the basic course.
2. Foundation Teacher Training Course (13 or 10 days)
offers a deepening of the previous knowledge and it adds specific supporting hands-on-grips for each exercise. The participant learns to teach the exercises from the Gyrotonic Level 1 program in supervised small groups. After successful completion, the student is allowed to work with clients, but within the scope of the training, the student is a trainee.
3. Apprenticeship period (6 - 12 months) with associated Review Course (6 or 3 days)
The apprenticeship is important to teach what you have learned and to gain further experience of your own. After at least 30 hours (Gyrokinesis: 15 hours) of "trainer activity" the supervision follows. This course (Gyrotonic: 6 days / Gyrokinesis: 3 days) can be seen as a compact review course. After that, another 30 (15) hours of trainer activity are required.
4. Final Certificate Course (3 days)
After a successful apprenticeship, the trainer is given new impulses and the quality of his or her own movement execution as well as the quality of the instruction is observed. After successful completion of the course, one becomes a certified GYROTONIC® or GYROKINESIS® trainer after approximately one to one and a half years of training.

As a certified trainer, a GYROTONIC® or GYROKINESIS® specific update course is required every 2 years to bring oneself up to date again and to obtain the authorization to continue teaching the method.

In addition to the basic training, the following courses can be booked with me:

GYROTONIC® / GYROKINESIS®   Level 1 Update Course
These courses are designed to refine existing skills, review Level 1 practice material and answer any questions that may arise.
GYROTONIC®  Jumping-Stretching Board Course
No chance to physically fake something that is not existent. On this machine you work more against gravity and the exercises are more challenging than on the basic machine. The weak points of your body are "mercilessly" exposed. On this journey through the body, you will recapture unknown areas in the body and increase both your mobility and strength. A wonderful new "playground"!
GYROTONER®  Course
A device that is perfect for rehabilitation and prevention training of the upper and lower extremities. The basic idea of the exercise program is that the arms and legs are supported by a strong body center, making the exercises easier for them.
GYROTONIC®  Applications for Runners
People are born to run! This course is the ideal instruction manual for anatomically and biomechanically correct running - for beginners and experienced runners. Here you will learn to prepare your body for efficient, injury-free and beneficial running. Topics covered include:

- Theoretical background knowledge
- Learning a healthy running technique
- New exercises on the Gyrotonic Pulley Tower Combination Unit
- Exercise sequences for runners designed by Juliu Horvath
